The emerging women are trying to find space in the institution of marriage whereas the restriction of patriarchal society tries to curtail their opportunities in all its possible ways. Amidst all hindrances, there is a need for women to voice out their identity. They are on the way to achieve their success in all aspects of life. Marital belief of women has been changed and it has reached its next level. This paper tries to focus on those emerging women and their belief in marriage pertaining to the four novels of Shobhaa De namely Socialite Evenings, Starry Nights, Strange Obsession and Second Thoughts. It also aims at finding out the reason for their changed belief in the matrimonial institution.
