This article presents a review of the feminism of the present as distinct from the various streams of feminism down the ages. If the earlier feminisms were a constant fight with existing circumstances, cyber feminism that came up with the era of the internet is a new avatar that proclaimed the empowerment of women taking on the facilities of the cyberspace. This article moves on from the background of feminist history to the new arena of cybernetics and takes on the issues brought forward by eminent theorists like Donna Haraway. The birth and growth of the concept of cyber feminism is also treated here. The likening of women and machines and the sexualising of cyberspace finds expression in modern age feminism. The theoretical as well as practical avenues heralded by cyber feminism is studied in detail in this article.
