Such A Long Journey is the story of a man who holds on to his dignity, strength, and humanity in a sweltering tide of disappointment, confusion, comatose of memory and treachery. The main protagonist Gustad Noble is an ordinary bank clerk who emphasis on the social invisibility and anonymity of the average low middle class Indian. Once upon a time he was the grandson of famous and highly esteemed furniture dealer, and the son of prosperous bookseller who allowed him to be treachery into bankruptcy by an irresponsible brother. The present paper tries to focus on the real treachery, however is not occurred by son and brother by the government. Especially the paper studies the way of treachery on the way of personal and political levels. Gustad’s loss of faith in the government is extremely slow for him aware that it is difficult to believe Ghulam Mohammad’s charges about corruption at the top (234), before the visiting Bilimoria in the hospital.
