T he 20th Century is an age driven by technology. It brings together people from different countries in search of better education, services, commerce, material success and propriety. As a result there is an increasing cross-cultural interaction and awareness about international communities. The issues related to other cultures, religions and geographical locations are no more alien to them and the earlier sense of isolation and intolerance have given way to understanding and tolerance. This is further followed by a wave of appreciation and assimilation of the new experience. Thus a smaller world has emerged with the identity of a global nature with a new horizon with its own concerns, aspirations and values. The cross cultural migration has continued for about a century and is on the rise for the last two decades. The resulting cultural diaspora has its own ethos – and many a time it emerges as an altogether new vision with courage to differ and defy the conventions of the past as well as meet the challenges of the future with newborn freshness and vigour...
