Foreign policy not only helps a country inachieving political objectives but also provides asafe guard against the era of power politics in theterms of belligerence, crusade and exploitationWhen India got freedom, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehruthought of establishing good relationship withneighboring countries and implemented it aftertaking over charge as the India’s first PrimeMinister and laid the foundation of foreignpolicies. He took so many steps towards the goodrelationship with our neighboring countries andgave India a new dimension of growth. ShashiTharoor depicted his work in his book Nehru TheInvention of India. Shashi Tharoor, theparliamentarian and award winning author, beingfor long time in foreign services experienced theneed of relation with foreign countries and sharedhis views in his book Pax Indica: India and theWorld of 21st Century. Tharoor emphasizes onameliorating good relations and its need to theprogress of India.
