In the Palm of Darkness is a story set in Haiti. This book has been written in 1995 and published after translation in U.S. in the year 1997. This is the tale of an American herpetologist Victor Grigg and the Haitian guide Thierry Adrien and their search for an endangered amphibian frog species in the Haitian mountains. The mounts of Haiti are fed with violence because of mankind’s need for materialistic pleasure. Ecofeministic element imprint in this novel are analysed to some extend in this present endeavour. The German Woman and her interrelation with the flora and fauna of the Haitian hills are explored. According to her, the spider is a play thing for she moves amicably without any fear and the spider too did not harm her in any manner, which depicts the connection between women and nature as sharing a sense of congeniality.
