Hamdan sends his friend; the old man to ask for the hand of a girl whose brother expresses his hesitance of her approval. When the old man tells Hamdan of what he has heard, "like a storm, the news hits Hamdan, (and) a wave of grief devastates him." Later, the old man meets the girl's brother who surprises him, saying: “It seems that I was hasty in response yesterday . . I approached her regarding this matter, and she accepted without hesitation.
