Ghosh chooses to explore historically the world of opium through Ibis trilogy. He has blended in a world of 19th century filled with war, money and love-making, set across India and China. Readers are transferred into a world full of addicts, hustlers, fighters, widows, and, all related to each other through the world of opium.
