In this study, we made an attempt to find out the importance of incorporating General Semantics and its applications in teaching soft skills to the students as well as the impact they have on their life thereafter when they become professionals. This paper explores why Soft Skills are essential and compulsory and complement hard skills, which are called technical requirements of professionals. This paper also urges teachers, faculties to exercise the principles of General Semantics, particularly the theory developed by Korzybski in his Science and Sanity: An Introduction to Non-Aristotelian Systems and General Semantics and Role of Language in the Perceptual Process in teaching- learning, particularly teaching English language to develop soft skills and communication skills. Moreover, teaching soft skills, communication skills, and other people-related skills in English may ground us in unknown territories and create more confusion than solving any if the methodology and technique of teaching these items are not taken care of to meet the real life situations. Words or statements, written or spoken, may be interpreted in several ways depending on the place, context, time, and the position or stature of the speaker or writer in a real life workplace. General Semantics promotes a scientific approach to understand human behaviour in terms of verbal and non-verbal. The so called soft skills training is meant for making an individual employable, civilized and rational to make appropriate decisions and handle stress and to minimize misunderstanding. When communication fails to bridge the gap between employees and soft skills do not reach out to handle pressure in the interpersonal relationship, General Semantics blended with soft skills will provide a scientific alternative for relationship management and for productive and effective communication.learning, particularly teaching English language to develop soft skills and communication skills.
