K. Chinnappa Bharathi is a pioneer of realistic novel tradition which seem to calumniate preaching of Gandhi and ‘haves and have nots’ principals of Marx together. One way Gandhi’s non-violence and through transformation change in humanity towards downtrodden and another way is the change through revolution, advocated by Max. K. Chinnappa Bharathi artistically juxtaposes the two with keeping away the idea of ‘art for art sake’. Fictionalization of reality is the hall mark of K. Chinnappa Bharathi. An attempt is made here to examine how at the peripheral level his works are compromised with artistic quality, but at deeper level of reading certainly one can find the real art form, called fiction. Thirst is chosen to analyze keeping the two different views to change the society. K. Chinnappa Bharathi is no doubt an apostle of revolution.
