English Education introduced by the British in India with twin purpose, first one is, for getting jobs to Indians to help British rulers in administration process and second one is, exhibit their culture in India. In pre republic India nearly 200 years India ruled by the British people, at that time English education is very much essential for getting jobs in government sector. In post republic India, we made an attempt to strike out English education from India but, English is the linguistic engine it drives the global economy. As a result of above reason only English education survived in republic India. In republic India role of English education is day by day increasing very speedily, because English is the world language, world culture and the language of science and technology.
