The paper traces the meaning of literature and music, whether the two are interconnected or not. Music and rhythm have been and integral part of poetry. A few poems of Christina Rossetti have been taken for analysis. Several of her poems have been set to music and it has even found a place in the Church hymn books. After tracing her background and her vast contribution to poetry, her success as a poet is unquestionable. The interrelatedness of music and poetry is analysed with the pros and cons.
