Translation exists from the very early days of literary civilization. The journey of translation begins with when the literature has been produced for the first time. Translation is an essential part of the literary and cultural history of any country. The place of the translation in literary world is inevitable. Translation’s one of the functions is to communicate among the readers across globally. Translation works as a linguistic bridge to spread knowledge and ideas between cultures and civilization and connects peoples of the world. The present study shows the journey of translation from 46 BC to modern period and its development from human translation to the machine translation. This paper also shows the contribution of some literary figures in attaining pick place of translation in different ages and more importantly in the age of globalization.
