Women’s problems can never be discussed without discussing them in reference to men's interests. The analysis of patriarchal attitudes even now shows that, things are not changed completely for Indian women, though there's a touch of amelioration in comparison to the sooner generations. Moreover, the gender roles dictated by a patriarchal society stifle the important roles of men and ladies. Disputed of interests is seen within the lives of females on account of this suppression. Anita Desai has been highlighted amongst many other women writers for this research paper as she is usually considered the representative of Indian Woman Novelist in English, who has made a substantial contribution to post independent Indian fiction. The female characters of Anita Desai’s fiction are very advanced mentally and intellectually who are during a constant go after identity and freedom during a patriarchal society. In India, the prominent female prototype is that the chaste, benevolent, virtuous, patient, self-denying, enduring, self-sacrificing and self-effacing woman. Indian women of the 20 th century have changed and therefore the modern woman questions the prominent female prototype and areocentric hegemony. Patriarchy is that the foundation of women's oppression and neither of the phenomena are often understood without the objection. Keywords: Anita Desai; Feminism; Patriarchy; Gender; Conflict; Interests, Transtormation, Feminism etc.
